SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On Mon., Nov. 24 at approximately 1505, an officer from the Royalton Police Department stopped a motor vehicle for multiple violations at the Upper Eaton's Trailer Park in South Royalton. The officer made contact with the operator, identified as Dale E. Byam, 38, of Tunbridge. Byam was operating with a criminally suspended license, and in violation of current conditions of release (24 hour curfew and not to leave Orange County without the court's permission).

When the officer was taking Byam into custody, Byam resisted arrest and led the officer on a foot chase. Byam crossed the river onto VT Route 110 and continued to run. Several troopers from the VT State Police Royalton barracks arrived to assist in apprehending Byam, as well as the barracks' newest member K-9 Maximus. Byam was located in the woods and was apprehended at approximately 1538 hours.

Byam was transported to Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield and held on $5,000 bail. Charges include Driving With License Suspended #2, Violating Conditions of Release, Resisting Arrest, Attempting to Elude, and Escape from Custody. Byam is due to appear in Windsor County Court on Tuesday at 1230 PM.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On Mon., Oct. 27, shortly after 9 p.m., Royalton and state police responded to a residence on Mill Road in South Royalton for a reported domestic disturbance involving a 17 year-old male threatening subjects with a knife and swinging a machete at them. Upon arrival and after investigation, Chad Herring, 17, of Northfield, was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He was taken into custody without incident. He was cited to appear in Windsor Superior Court Criminal Division the next day to answer to the charge as an adult. He entered a plea of not guilty.
