Royalton Police Log: May 26 - June 8

Monday, May 26

0800 hrs: Provided traffic control for Memorial Day Parade on The Green.

 

Tuesday, May 27

0822 hrs: 911 hang-up from VT Law School. After investigation, determined there was no
emergency and it was an accidental dial from an office.

0900 hrs: All officers attended Flagger training at Royalton PD with members of Royalton and
Sharon highway departments.

1129 hrs: Assisted a Royalton resident with a verbal dispute he is having with a landlord. 

1200 hrs: Provided a resident with information on getting a restraining order.

1250 hrs: Vehicle lockout at the South Royalton Senior Center. Citizen locked her keys in her car.

1436 hrs: VIN verification at PD.

1440 hrs: Fingerprints at PD for a bar exam applicant's background check.

 

Wednesday, May 28

1000 hrs: Investigation into a complaint that a local mother is involved with drugs around
children. Reported matter to DCF as well.

1027 hrs: Two subjects at RPD for fingerprinting (one for bar exam background check, one for
criminal processing on a recent DLS charge).

1148 hrs: Fingerprints at PD for bar exam applicant.

1200 hrs: Assisted Lebanon PD serving paperwork to subject on Howe Hill Road in Sharon.

1300 hrs: Responded to a civil dispute in a Sharon neighborhood regarding trespassing and
property lines. Resolved the matter.

1440 hrs: Report of a criminal violation of trespass order on Route 132 in Sharon. Complainant
did not want to press charges, just wanted to report it.

 

Thursday, May 29

0844 hrs: VIN verification at PD.

1302 hrs: Responded to family disturbance at a residence on Route 14 in Royalton. Adam
Gover, 28, cited for Domestic Assault and Criminal DLS. Anthony Gover, 30, cited for Domestic Assault (see separate story).

1400 hrs: Conducted a routine sex offender compliance check on Route 14 in Royalton.

1754 hrs: VIN verification on Gee Hill Road.


Friday, May 30

0800 hrs: Directed patrol for Windsor County Click It Or Ticket task force.

1102 hrs: VIN verification on Route 14 in Sharon.

1145 hrs: Sharon resident reported theft of mail.

1539 hrs: Sex offender registry compliance check at Upper Eaton's Trailer Park.

1600 hrs: Responded to Dee Haven in Sharon for report of an assault. Incident is under
investigation, charges are expected.

1602 hrs: Royalton resident reporting identity theft. Under investigation.

 

Monday, June 2

1143 hrs: Served a restraining order on Broad Brook Road in Royalton.

1442 hrs: VIN verification at PD.

 

Tuesday, June 3

1005 hrs: Resident on Harlow Road in Sharon reported a residential burglary. Items taken were
a vacuum cleaner, mop bucket, and other cleaning supplies. Occurred sometime over the weekend. Case remains under investigation.

1100 hrs: South Windsor Street resident reported a stolen bicycle. Occurred between May
12 and May 17.

1330 hrs: Good Samaritan turned in a wallet and cell phone found at a gas station. Owner was
contacted and items were returned.

1513 hrs: VIN verification on Route 14 in South Royalton.

1545 hrs: Directed patrol on Johnson Hill Road.

 

Wednesday, June 4

0922 hrs: Resident on Fay Brook Road in Sharon reported a theft of wood from her property.
Under investigation.

1030 hrs: VIN verification at Lover's Lane in South Royalton.

1211 hrs: Business owner reported unwanted loitering.

1219 hrs: Directed patrol on Johnson Hill Road.

 

Thursday, June 5

0808 hrs: VIN verification at PD.

0854 hrs: Report of a residential burglary on Eastman Road in Sharon. Items taken include
over $2,000 worth of property. Under investigation.

1149 hrs: Conducted a sex offender registry compliance check on Sewall Brook Road
in Royalton.

1349 hrs: Landlord requested to speak with an officer about issues with a tenant.

1439 hrs: Responded to a bank alarm in Sharon. False alarm, no emergency.

 

Friday, June 6

1256 hrs: Fingerprints for a background check for a Nursing job.

1400 hrs: Directed patrol on Howe Hill Road in Sharon. Issued several speeding tickets.

 

Sunday, June 8

1505 hrs: Report of a missing German Shepard last seen around Gee Hill Road on June 5.

Monday, May 12

0715 hrs: Responded to Gage Road for a family disturbance. Arrested Kyle Zenlea, 31, of Royalton, for domestic assault and violation of probation. Later lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility.

1057 hrs: Found property (purse containing cash) at Sharon Elementary School.

1330 hrs: Traffic court in White River Junction.

1500 hrs: Officer on patrol in Sharon witnessed a two-vehicle rear-end collision. Issued ticket to at-fault driver for following too closely.

1800 hrs: Citizen dispute on Happy Hollow Road regarding property damage and ongoing disagreements.


Tuesday, May 13

0950 hrs: Report of suspicious man in a driveway with a hood over his face on Back River Road. Gone on arrival.

1121 hrs: Fingerprints for subject for a background check.

1430 hrs: Report of stolen chainsaw which may have occurred in December. Under investigation.

1522 hrs: VIN inspection.


Wednesday, May 14

0711 hrs: Report of vandalism to property (part of on-going dispute between neighbors) on Happy Hollow Road.

2342 hrs: Responded to a family disturbance at a residence on Route 14 in Sharon. No charges filed.


Thursday, May 15

0924 hrs: Loaded handgun found in a back yard on South Windsor Street near South Royalton School. Under investigation.

1141 hrs: VIN verification on Button Hill Road.

1222 hrs: Theft of copper wire, buss bars, and grounding cables from a work site on Route 14 in Sharon.

1447 hrs: Fingerprints for subject taking a bar exam.

2005 hrs: Report of a black truck speeding on Happy Hollow Road.


Friday, May 16

1047 hrs: Fingerprints for subject taking a bar exam.

1054 hrs: VIN verification at RPD.

1141 hrs: VIN verification at RPD.

1150 hrs: Follow-up investigation and interviews into firearm found previous morning.

1200 hrs: Responded to River Road in Sharon for a report of a suspicious man walking back and forth between residences. Unable to locate the subject.

 

Saturday, May 17

0900 hrs: Vermont Law School commencement detail at South Royalton Green. Provided traffic and crowd control.

1100 hrs: Custodial dispute on North Windsor Street. Assisted parents in reaching a compromise for child visitation until they can work it out in court.

1250 hrs: Residential alarm on Gilman Road. False alarm.

2029 hrs: Report of a vehicle driving recklessly on Route 14 near Route 110. No units were in the area, vehicle was GOA.

 

Sunday, May 18

1343 hrs: Complainant found a plastic bag with a dead animal inside. Someone had shot a turkey and decided they didnt want it.

1900 hrs: Report of a red car driving erratically on Route 14 in Sharon.

 

Monday, May 19

1102 hrs: Sex offender registry compliance check on Rix Road. Subject is in compliance.

2025 hrs: Assisted Fish & Wildlife with putting down an injured deer on Route 132 in Sharon.

2105 hrs: Responded to Upper Eatons Trailer Park for a complaint of loud music. Music had been turned off upon arrival.

 

Tuesday, May 20

0657 hrs: Citizens disputing at Upper Eatons Trailer Park.

0930 hrs: Reported theft of copper material from a work site on Baxter Mountain Road in Sharon. Under investigation.

1317 hrs: VIN verification at RPD.

1423 hrs: Fingerprints for a subject applying for position at a local day care.

1500 hrs: Click It Or Ticket safety checkpoint on Camp Brook Road in Bethel/Rochester.

 

Thursday, May 22

0800 hrs: Click It Or Ticket Task Force for Windsor County.

0937 hrs: Citizen assist on Downer Road in Sharon.

1144 hrs: Arrested Edward Davis Jr., 27, of Chelsea, for driving with a suspended license on Route 110 in Royalton. Also issued tickets for no insurance and speeding.

1003 hrs: Sex offender registry compliance check on Harlow Road. Subject is in compliance.

1015 hrs: VIN verification on Frary Road.

1100 hrs: Report of theft of services from a local business.

 

Sunday, May 25

1839 hrs: Traffic stop on Route 110, arrested David Smart, 41, of South Royalton for driving under the influence, 3rd offense. Cited and released.

1833 - Complaint from subject advising she purchased a cell phone from an unknown person and it turned out to be stolen. Under investigation.
2209 - Complaint of fireworks on Happy Hollow Road.

1412 - VIN verification on Carpenter Road in Sharon.
1452 - Welfare check on an intoxicated, suicidal subject on Chelsea Street. Subject blew a .326% BAC and was turned over to family members who brought the subject to get help.
1653 - Complaint of threatening text and Facebook messages. Complainant did not want police action taken, just to have it on record.
1738 - Arrested Connor Horn for driving with a suspended license near The Green. Cited and released.
